Itinerary: Rome – Pisa – Lucca – La Spezia (1 night) – Cinque Terre – Siena area (2 nights) – Chianti area – San Gimignano – Siena – Montepulciano – Rome
Day 1 – Sunday: ROMA – PISA – LUCCA – LA SPEZIA
Departure from Rome at 8:00 am (possibility to pick up from central hotels in Rome) to Pisa. Here we visit the city of the Leaning Tower, a unique masterpiece located in Piazza dei Miracoli. We then continue to the ancient walled city of Lucca. Considered one of the flagships of the Tuscan region, Lucca is also known as the “city of a hundred churches” because of the large number of religious buildings in the historic center. Departure for La Spezia. Welcome dinner at local restaurant and overnight stay. Meals: D
Day 2 – Monday: LA SPEZIA – CINQUE TERRE – SIENA AREA
After breakfast we depart by boat for an unforgettable day dedicated to discovering of one of the most amazing and enchanting landscapes in the World, the UNESCO world heritage listed Cinque Terre. By touring the coastline by boat, you will have the chance to admire this amazing landscape from the ocean. In the event of rough seas, we will visit by train. During the tour, the boat will stop at the villages of Vernazza, Monterosso and Porto Venere where you will be able to get out and explore them on foot. Afterwards we will return to La Spezia by train and from there we will take a private motor coach to the Siena region. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Meals: B D
Day 3 – Tuesday: SIENA AREA – GAIOLE in CHIANTI – RADDA IN CHIANTI – GREVE in CHIANTI – SAN CASCIANO in VAL di PESA – SAN GIMIGNANO
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we depart to discover the wonderful Chianti area, considered the heart of Tuscany and famous for its world-renowned wines. Free time in Gaiole in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Greve in Chianti. Continue to San Gimignano where on the way we will stop near San Casciano in Val di Pesa for a wine tasting in a charming winery. Upon arrival in the town of San Gimignano, you will have free time to visit of the historic center of this small UNESCO world heritage listed medieval town. Afterwards we will have a second wine tasting before returning to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay. Meals: B D
Day 4 – Wednesday: SIENA AREA – SIENA – MONTEPULCIANO – ROME
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will go on a guided tour of the historic center of Siena. This beautiful medieval city is built around the Piazza del Campo, famous throughout the World for its architectural beauty and its unique “shell” shape. Afterwards we proceed to Montepulciano to taste the Vino Nobile, one of the oldest and most prestigious wines of the Tuscany. Finally, we will depart for Rome where we will arrive in the city center in the late afternoon. There will be guaranteed drop-offs in Viale Washington, Viale Luigi Einaudi / Termini Station Area, Via Ludovisi. Transfer services and extra nights in Rome available upon request.
