Itinerary: Milan (1 night) – Como – Sirmione – Verona – Venice Mestre (2 nights) Venice – Bologna – Florence (2 nights) – San Gimignano – Siena – Rome
DAY 1 – SATURDAY – MILAN – COMO – MILAN
Meet your tour leader directly at the hotel scheduled for the tour. Start your sightseeing visit of Milan, regarded as the city of fashion and shopping. Discover the city’s icons including the Duomo, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and La Scala Theatre House. Afterwards we take a half-day excursion to Como, a small historical town on beautiful Lake Como. We will have a walking tour of the town center and a short boat trip on the lake. Return to Milan. Welcome dinner at the hotel and overnight. Meals: D
DAY 2 – SUNDAY – MILAN – SIRMIONE – VERONA – MESTRE
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we depart to the town of Sirmione, located on popular Lake Garda. Upon arrival we will take a boat tour to discover some of the local history including Maria Callas’ Villa, the Scaligero Castle and the ruins of an ancient Roman villa, commonly called “Grotte di Catullo”. We will then continue to Verona where you will have free time to wander this romantic city and see the location that inspired the Shakespearean love story, Romeo and Juliet. In the afternoon we depart for Mestre. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay. Meals: B, D
DAY 3 – MONDAY – MESTRE – VENICE – MESTRE
Breakfast at the hotel. We will then transfer to the Island of Venice, a unique and magical city. Guided tour of the historic city center passing through Piazza San Marco, with its extraordinary buildings including the Basilica di San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, Torre dell’Orologio and for the Bridge of Sighs. Then we will depart by boat to the Island of Murano. Here we will visit a famous glass factory and see how the precious glass artifacts are manufactured. We will return to Piazza San Marco and here you will have free time to enjoy the city. You may wish to take a gondola ride or just enjoy the local ambiance in a sidewalk café. Later we will meet back and return to the hotel. The evening tonight is free for you to relax and enjoy. Overnight at the hotel. Meals: B
DAY 4 – TUESDAY – MESTRE – BOLOGNA – FLORENCE
Breakfast at the hotel, depart for Bologna. Free time to visit the city’s beautiful main sights such as the imposing Piazza Maggiore, the Torri degli Asinelli and Garisenda. Early in the afternoon we continue onto Florence. Upon arrival we will visit of the historic center and see many of the iconic places including the Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. Hotel accommodation. Tonight, you have a free evening in Florence to enjoy. Overnight hotel. Meals: B
DAY 5 – WEDNESDAY – FLORENCE
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to explore Florence, also called the “Cradle of Renaissance”, one of the most famous cities in the world, with its unique artistic and cultural center. There will be the possibility of optional tours, such as a visit to the Uffizi Gallery, the Academia Gallery or an excursion to the wine district of Chianti. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Florence. Overnight hotel. Meals: B, D
DAY 6 – THURSDAY – FLORENCE – SAN GIMIGNANO – SIENA – ROME
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we head through Tuscany to the hilltop town of San Gimignano. Here you will have the opportunity to explore on your own this tiny UNESCO listed medieval village. Afterwards we continue to beautiful Siena where you will have a guided tour of this ancient town. Built around the shell shaped Piazza del Campo, with the imposing black and white marble duomo you will be enchanted by its architectural beauty. Next we depart for Rome where we will arrive at the city center in the evening. Drop-offs are guaranteed in Viale Washington, Viale Luigi Einaudi – Termini Station Area and Via Ludovisi. Transfer services and extra nights in Rome available upon request. End of tour services. Meals: B
