In Tuscany a funding of over 105 million euros for the period of 2008-2010 have been assigned to cultural activities. So says Paolo Cocchi from the Culture and Tourism regional authority. Innovation, quality and development are the main targets of the provision. The integrated plan, counts on a general action of qualification and a strategy for the five hundred museums in Tuscany. The aim is to enhance the management of cultural heritage, without forgetting the local traditions, and to improve the services provided and the innovation of both management and products.
Tuscany will be trying out the all inclusive package holidays in Versilia. The hotels on the coast have presented their demands and concerns to the vice-president of the province Patrizio Petrucci. Among the requirements appeared: the need of discussion with the private beach services to set up and schedule joint packages including hotel rooms and beach services. There is also a need to extend the season, because we have seen warm days in September, which favour beach holidays. There has been an increasing flow of tourists arriving from Northern Europe .
A completely new tourist tour is being sold in Rome, as an experiment, until February 14th 2008. The tourists can see the most attractive spots of Rome on a vintage tram while listening to live opera singers who will sing the most beautiful Italian opera arias. The tour includes a dinner at Colle Oppio, which restaurant has a marvellous view of the Coliseum. Tourists can sip wines and tast different food specialities from the Region. The package, which has been called “TRAMbelcanto”, is offered every Friday evening.
