Visit Northern Italy’s romantic cities and the enchanting northern lakes of  Lake Garda and Lake Como with lots of free time to absorb the beauty of them on your own. Tour starts in Rome and continues to the art cities of Siena, Florence and Venice before entering the northern lakes region of unparalleled splendor and charm. We will also visit Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet and end in Milan

ITINERARY
Day 1 Monday. Rome Assisi, Siena Florence
7:30 a.m. pick up at your hotel and depart by deluxe motor coach to Assisi, the mystical town of St. Frances.  You can explore this tiny town, surrounded by walls built in the middle ages, at your own leisure. Make time to visit the basilica of St. Francis, where you will see masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. Time for lunch on your own, then departure to Siena with one of the most famous main squares of all of Italy built on a Roman site, the Piazza del Campo. The city is well known for its authentic late Medieval  strrets and houses and the Palio, a summertime horse race.  Continue on to Florence, check into your hotel to rest before dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Florence. D

Day 2  Tuesday. Florence
Breakfast, then we embark on our guided tour of Florence, the center of Renaissance where Italian art reached its zenith. The city has  Etruscan-Roman origins, and has been an important independent state though the Middle Ages. Admire the city’s outstanding monuments, churches, and buildings like the  Santa Maria del Fiore, more commonly referred to as the Duomo with its magnificent dome built by Filippo Brunelleschi. We will cross the small piazza across the Duomo to Giotto’s bell tower with his depiction of the gates of the Paradise.  We will also see Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo della Signoria (also known as Palazzo Vecchio), and the Basilica of Santa Croce. In the afternoon free time to stroll around the ancient cobblestone streets of Florence or visit its famous art galleries.  We will also offer you an optional tour to Pisa, a formerly important Maritime republic with its famous Leaning Tower and baptistery.  Dinner in Florence at a typical restaurant on Santa Croce square. Overnight in Florence.B. D.

Day 3  Wednesday. Florence  Padova Venice
After breakfast departure to Venice, the city of lagoons. First we will drive to Padova, famous for its original Sant’Antonio Basilica. Continue on to Venice. Upon arrival city tour. You will see the St. Mark’s square, the Basilica of St. Mark, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Prisons from the outside. Check into your hotel, dinner and overnight. B.D.

Day 4 Thursday. Venice
Buffet breakfast at the hotel, then boat tour crossing the lagoon with a view of the islands and reach the island of Murano, center of the famous Murano glass blowing whre you have time to admire the colorful glass creations. Return to Venice where the afternoon will be at leisure for own activities. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. B D

Day 5 Friday. Venice – Verona – Sirmione (Lake Garda) – Lake Como – Milan
After breakfast departure to Verona, city of Romeo and Juliet. See the Renaissance pink town with “Juliet’s Balcony”. Continue to SIRMIONE, the idyllic lake side town on the shore of Lake Garda, once of the most enchanting places of all of Europe.  Free time for lunch and to enjoy the town on your ow. In the afternoon, proceed to LAKE COMO for a panoramic tour by bus. In the evening arrival in MILAN. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Meals: B D

Day 6 (Saturday) Milan or Rome
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic city tour of Milan to view the arcaded shopping gallery Vittorio Emanuele II, the Sforza castle, and the majestic Duomo, one of the world’s largest, most striking Gothic cathedrals. The tour will end at 11.00 a.m. at the central railway station (transfer to Airport or hotel in Milan is not included). B

*It is possible to return to Rome with a free transfer by bus (arrival time at around 7.30pm)
